This is me when I was just beginning to figure out what all those letters on a page meant. I was so excited to learn to read. The first books I remember reading by myself were Disney's Dumbo and Bambi. I had the little book and matching 45 record so that I could read along. I remember reading Edward Lear's rhymes, too.
The next stories I read were about Dick, Jane, Sally, Spot, and Puff in my school reader. Then I found fairy tales. I loved fairy tales and would stay up way past bedtime reading them. Grandma's bookcase and the library were great sources for my pastime.
Now I like to find a favorite author or choose a topic and read all the books I can find by that author or on that topic.
